Nope, but the area is gridlocked now with no way in and no way out!

I saw a highway sign in Portland yesterday:

Northbound I-5 to Seattle Close: No Detour.

That's scary, but later I heard there was a detour, but it takes you through British Columbia. Now, you don't have to be a geography genius to know that's messed up!

Also, Amtrak NB has been out of service since Wednesday.

Do we have any member form Spokane? Those are the folks I'm really worried about. With 8 feet accumulated snow, getting around is nearly impossible. Store shelves are getting bare, many stores are closed due to danger of more collapsing roofs. They've got acres of ice dams and rivers at flood stage. Good thing they called in the National Guard to help out.

I was born in Tacoma and grew up around there. When I visited there winter 2006 there were a lot of storms and it all made me remember why I left ;-). I can only imagine now what it must be like.
Talking to family there now it seems everyone is coping OK, better than I would probably. Give me calm cool NYC ;-)
Awfully strange times, these. They did get a white christmas, for which they appear grateful.

We're doing well here in Olympia! My wife works with a number of ladies that live south of the closed section of I-5, so they haven't been able to get to work for the last couple of days. Some other friends that live in Bucoda that we'll be checking on today. The ones really hit the hardest (as in 2007) were/are the folks in Lewis County, in the Chehalis/Centrailia area! :>( One lady had JUST moved back into her home (on Monday) after getting repairs finished from the previous flood , only to have to evacuate again two days later! :>(

Fish lady (Dani) is up on the Idaho side of Spokane. Moscow I think. She's been pretty quiet.. They are used to weather up their-however this is a record year. Our snow is gone-but, the Yakima river is running at flood stage.

One reason I would not live in Washington. I hate rain and snow. Good luck everyone up in that state. Hope you all don't drown this year. Stay safe.

Ok in North Puget Sound: Marysville, Washington

We're ok here. But those living near some of the rivers got hit pretty bad.
What really hammered us is the very low snow levels a few weeks ago (down to sea level), record snowfall (we had a total of 18" at around 50ft above sea level), and then a very warm & jucy sub-tropical flow of moisture that sent the snow levels up to as high as 7,000ft. The mountains wrung-out about half a foot of rain in some areas. This rain + warm temperatures melting snow just overwhelmed some of our rivers.

So if you're interested in relocating to the Pacific Northwest... make sure you ask your Title Company if you're in a flood-zone when purchasing a home.

This is beginning to be worse than the Midwest Summer floods, so are you guys saying that they're TRAPPED in certain areas?
- Hope everything turns out ok!

They were saying Yesterday morning, the only way out of the Puget Sound area was by airplane. Highways and pass's either flooded, snowed in or avalanch prone.
But everything is fine here in central Seattle.. just WET.
