Economic Stimulus Plan Spending

Nice surprise today - some of our own money came back to us in the form of a US Treasury check, courtesy of the Economic Stimulus Plan. We have ours allocated already but thought a poll would be nice to see what others will do with this "windfall."

I was on the fence on whether to vote "frivolous purchase" or "buying necessities" - our $1200 rebate came a week or so ago.....just in time for the check I wrote last Saturday for the downpayment of our smart.

My girlfriend asked why I was buying accessories for my smart when the car already comes with everything on it... I guess I'll be making another frivolous accessory purchase

For a variety of reasons having to do with a business I closed at the end of the year and debt payoffs which became "shadow income" I don't get a rebate check so I can't vote in the poll.

Yup. Right to the car payment.

Being a loan, and taxable income on this year's taxes, I'm paying some down on another loan. A loan to pay down a loan.

I just can't justify a frivolous purchase.

Filed it away into savings. I budget myself enough play money per month as is... I'm sure its going to find a roundabout way into the smart, however.
