Excuse me while I kiss the sky

Thanks to my wonderful wife, I was able to take my first flight ever. On top of that, it was a personal plane and I got to fly it! Check out the pics and video below!

More pics here!

That's pretty wild. I haven't been in a small plane like that since I was in my early teens. (Yes, there were airplanes back then). That plane didn't have all the electronics I see in your video.

You've never even flown commercial? I'll bet you were on an incredible adrenaline high!

Glad I was safe on the ground here in New Jersey!

That must have been a terrific first flight. Despite the fact that my friend is a private pilot, I've never actually gone up with him. Great video, BTW.

Nice to see you post buddy! You guys look like you had a blast!

Bad news is I won't be coming to visit for some time. In-laws finally followed through on their threat of coming to visit us if we didn't go to them. No TX trip in store for some time.

First taste of sky? Was this your first time up or first time to ever have control of your own destiny for a few minutes?

I remember my first flight. It was 1979. I was an 18 year old kid from Long Island. I was VERY nervous. Due to both the flight AND the destination, South Carolina. Parris Island, South Carolina.

I've flown dozens of times since then, but I still get the same rush every time that plane lifts it's nose skyward, pressing me into my seat.

Congratulations - glad you enjoyed that first flight. Were either one of these yours? FlightAware > Live Flight Tracker > N657SP

Were you in Kansas or was the plane in Texas?
