Bad news is I won't be coming to visit for some time. In-laws finally followed through on their threat of coming to visit us if we didn't go to them. No TX trip in store for some time.

First taste of sky? Was this your first time up or first time to ever have control of your own destiny for a few minutes?
Yea, work has been kicking my rear. I had never been in an airplane before. Almost once, but never had the chance. This was a twofer!

Not to get philosophical, but I felt for years what man felt when he looked at the birds... Now I need another fix!

Were you in Kansas or was the plane in Texas?
Texas, and it was on the 15th, saturday. We took off and landed at the same airport (Draughon-Miller Rgnl). Its a small one! We flew in a big circle above Temple, TX and landed.

If there are any Texas pilots that want to teach me, I am willing to learn!

Good for you to finally get to go up. I've been lucky enough to fly since an early age......many private planes included. A few unfortunate flights have soured me even though I just had to go commercial last Feb due to a death in the family.

My bad times......a ROUGH ride from Guam to Japan and then another VERY rough ride from Japan to LAX. Another time was from Atlanta into our small local airport in a serious storm and another stormy ride from Wichita Falls to DFW. The ones that finally did me in.....tactical flights in military cargo planes. NEVER again is what I said. I had to go about 3 times after that anyway. A few times I had words before I stepped foot on the plane to ensure they would fly nice - pretty much saying I wouldn't go if they fly bad and that would of made their flight worthless since they needed me there to do some stuff at their destination.

So me getting on a plane now....a lot like BA (Mr.T) in the A-Team. Except I don't have a mohawk and not as good of a tan either.
