Firefox 3 available for download

Mozilla's Firefox 3 browser is available for download. If you want to upgrade your browser, you can go to Spread Firefox | Download Day 2008 and download the file.

I did and had to jump through "Linux hoops" to get my beloved maf extension to work again.
I wish the developers would stay on the ball and keep up with distribution releases in a little more timely fashion.

Thanks for the heads up; wonder why Mozilla didn't notify us directly a new version is available. When I did "check for updates" it came back with nothing.

Here's the Firefox 3 direct lownload link.

It is still in Beta I believe and not considered stable enough to replace 2.0.0.14. Been wrong before though.
Otherwise, it is not considered an "update", but rather an upgrade.

No, Firefox 3.0 is the official public release version and is no longer beta. And yes, 3.0 is considered a full upgrade, so it would not show up as an "update."

For what it's worth, I installed 3.0 and it is well worth the upgrade. It runs faster, doesn't crash (well, maybe not as much as 2.0+), and has nifty new features. Check it out.

Don't like what it did to my bookmarks, but it does seem to run faster/better and the price is right!
