Don't worry though. You won't feel so all alone when your shifter gets stuck in park.

are you talking about "ME" or "HIM"?

i'm not 'gay', "....not that there's anything wrong with that".

The usual suspects...

IMHO, very disappointing (but not unexpected) replies here. The guy asks a reasonable question and he gets, well, the usual response. Sorry, smartfloridadad.

For the record, there are several members of the forum that are "family" ... including me.

I generally never make it a point, but just to let smartfloridadad know, we are here!

One thing I have learned, the "smart" revolution is crossing many borders and barriers...

The one important thing to remember is we are all human beings first, and smart car enthusiasts second. The rest really doesn't matter, but it will be interested to see how many members that used to converse with me still will or not... Regardless, I am a smart car enthisiast and I am here to learn and share about my smart to be.

If someone is looking to connect with others, whether it's for geographical reasons, color/equipment preferences for your car, delivery date... these forums are (for many) a place to meet, greet, and get to know people of like-minded interests related to the smart. I've seen wayyyy more 'irrelevant' conversation starters on here than this one, and I hope there is no genuine criticism related to smartfloridadad's post. It wouldn't surprise me if the gay community had much to do with the eventual long-term success of the smart.

Excellent point...

Normally we are just a family of 2 or perhaps 2.25 if you count our pets.

It just makes more sense, which is why I am going from a Lincoln Towncar to a smart!

Folks,
smartfloridadad asked a reasonable and non-threatening question**unless you choose to be threatened/offended by such. Many others have mentioned their kids, pets, etc. The smart is big enough (pun intended) to be embraced by a variety of lifestyles and owners.

I mean, personally, I don't care if someone has kids and wants to know if a car seat will work, but then I just don't chime in on those threads (unless they are out of line). Point being, unless this is truly offensive, don't reply or participate if it's not your kind of thread. There are plenty of other active threads where you will feel comfortable participating. Otherwise your homophobia is showing**and that just doesn't look good on anyone

To all the family out there, has anyone thought of any interesting ways you might show your pride? I was thinking of the HRC sticker in the back window...

I am going for the Passion Coupe, fully loaded with full extended warranty.

Our business openly advertises to the community. I think there are a ton of peopl in the family who own or are interested in owning one. Myself and several of my friends have a Smart as a second vehicle for fun and economy.

They named the car right... SMART. I just can't wait for it to arrive. I am trying to be patient... It's an amazing product.
