Hi guys

Sorry to bring this thread up again.

I found this to be a most fascinating read. I am an openly gay 19 year old who is planning on buying a Smart Cabrio and this is the one issue I get dealt with a lot.

This being the issue of the Smart car being stereotyped as "gay".

I am sure that the abuse will continue once I have my Smart but at the same time I find it somewhat profound that people judge you based on what you drive. Its like saying all BMW drivers are c*cks. This isnt true. I know of a lot of very very decent BMW drivers...

Its great to see that this forum supports the guys or gals like us who play for the same team.

P.S - 8 out of 10 Audi owners I know are gay. Sleep on that. Hahaha

100% of the gay community breathe oxygen.... Think on that!! It really doesn't matter one way or the other. people are people.

Agreed 100% Jim.

I was commenting more on the stereotyping of the Smart Car as a gay car.

Gay people should be the last to judge others. And yes. We do all breathe oxygen and I agree. We are all equal in this regard.

Above all, remember that what other people think About you, is NONE of your Bussiness. It is THEIR stuff. Just because they think it, say it, hit you with it, doesn't mean you have to own it or wear it! Put on the teflon.
Be Real! Enjoy those who can appreciate you and the special talents and abilities you bring to the world. Let those who can not, sit in the corner and be sad, and mad that you are different. Let them be better than others and miss out because of their exclusivity. How sad for them!
And yes, I love my Black Cabrio! I especially enjoy driving it with my 6'5" partner of 16 years, at age 58. He fits in it quite nicely, with more headroom than our camry, and his knees don't touch the dashboard either.
So is the smart car Gay? No. Happy face? Yes. appreciated by Gay men everywhere along with straight people? You Bet. I've never owned a car that drew as much attention, smiles, cute comments, and excitement by men of all ages, (How nice is that!) as well as women. What a load of Fun, as Sophia Petrillo would have said!

I have been driving my Smart Fortwo Pure since March 2008 and have never had any one think I was gay since I drive the Smart car. I am not gay. There is a episode of NCIS where Denoso stereotypes people according to the cars they drove. I have read where the color of a car reflects the personality of the owner.
