Aww.

I've been driving my Smart since April 2008, and have also never had anyone think I was gay because I drive a smart car. The rainbow sticker
ON the car has make a couple people think that, but not the car itself. I am gay, but I don't typically fit people's stereotypes of how a gay man looks or acts. Most are quite surprised when they finally figure it out, or are told.
Reality is, it's hard to tell when someone is gay or not after observing them for a while. (I've tried and failed several times to guess before knowing for sure, and failed often, even with "insider knowledge".

) Not to say there aren't some clues one can pick up on, but car choice really isn't usually a key factor in one's life. Most people purchase a car based on their needs and their finances more than anything. Car
color or
accessories on the other hand can be indicators, since that's usually something one can choose or change for much less than the cost of a car.

Yes, as are several other things... Almost anything "non-African" is met with some disdain there. That included things that are African, but that religious leaders claim and/or want to think are not part of their own culture.
Good luck with your smart!
