George 'Goober' Lindsey 'Andy Griffith Show' Star Dead at 83

One of my favorite TV characters, especially in The Andy Griffith Show as Goober (a favorite to me as his character hit home). He helped people stereotype southern mechanics for decades. Definitely a beloved person that'll be missed.

From a time in TV when the whole family often watched together, after they ate dinner together.

Good point. I remember growing up it was a requirement that we had dinner together. Didn't get as much of a chance with my daughter.

My favorite tv show ever , I still watch the reruns and have recordings on the dvr plus DVDs . It's sad virtually everyone in the show has passed now . I love that it's a memory of stress-free time . I remember being so excited when the tv movie " Return to Mayberry " was going to air , and even then you could see how old everyone had become .

Yeah, I think just about everyone loved that show. Aunt Bea was always my favorite.
