I did a property management course since I have to manage my parent's commercial properties when they go on vacation, sometimes months at a time. Seems like something always happens when they go. I've had leaks in the ceiling (causing the ceiling to fall out), air conditioning units go out and the worst....one shopkeeper up and left leaving part of their inventory.

I choose credit unions..

I can't believe it, I have nothing to whine about. I do, however, have a list on my dry erase board behind my desk. On the board I have "Nails in coffin". Everytime someone does something EXTREMELY stupid I add it to the picture of my coffin. I made up the coffin after the big boss asked why I was retiring.

I've had the opposite problem, if I read you correctly. Years ago, after a period of using NO credit, I got a card with a low limit from my CU ... just to reestablish my credit history. Started out with a $300 limit, which suited me perfectly.

I made small purchases, maintained a small balance but kept it low. Over the years, without my requesting it, they've stepped the limit up to its present $2,500.

Today is OCTOBER 12th!!!!

Alright, enough already! It is the middle of October. I'm really tired of mid Summer temperatures.

Da WxMan is now promising the highs will drop to the 70s by Friday. Of course, 'he' said the same thing seven days ago ... and withdrew them last night. Oooppsssss.

My limit has slowly crept up since the 80's from $100 to $27,000. And many times I had them knock it back down..

Usually within one month they would bump my interest rate for some reason, and then send me a notice that since I was such a good a loyal card member they were going to raise my limit.

I would call and ask why my rate went up, they would give me some lame "we are doing it to everyone" excuse and I would counter with, "If Im such a good customer why don't you lower my rate and bring my limit back down to earth.
I don't think I should be able to go out and purchase a car at credit card rates.

I need to get my limit back down again. They snuck it up on me again.

Other drivers

What bothers you about other driver's driving habits?

I guess tailgating is a universal dislike.

Something else that bugs me is people who, entering a highway drive directly to the far lane. It's technically wrong in most places, but the cops do it as much as anyone else here. Watching traffic at an intersection, a large majority go directly to the far lane. And, after driving to the far lane, a good number of THEM almost immediately switch to the near lane ... as that is apparently where they wanted to be to start with.
What's up with this? Are they too lazy to turn the friggin' wheel and get into the near lane? Do they have a phobia about g forces? Do they actually have an open cup of coffee on their dash?
There are very practical and safety minded reasons why the practice isn't legal. Do people do this everywhere, or is it primarily down here in the South?

Wow, a thread for Whines and Rants.

Oh yeah NCC. We've got these merging lanes over here and they have this solid line for a good distance that leads to a dashed line. I could of sworn the solid line means DO NOT CROSS and the dashed line means OK to cross. No one here can figure out what they means and they dart across the solid line at the first chance they get.

Wow, a thread for Whines and Rants.
In Texas, it is perfectly legal for a driver to enter any UNOCCUPIED lane when turning left or right. Stupid, yes, but legal nonetheless.

As a result, you are entering a crapshoot when you turn in a multiple lane situation. If you are in the center or right lane and try to enter the left lane, you better hope that there is no driver hanging right behind you intent on the same thing.

We always turn from the far left lane into the far left lane, keeping a careful eye both to the front and to the back (in the mirror) the whole while.

It's part of the wacky world of Texas driving. Odd little quirks like thatr combined with a population of which a solid third only has a nodding acquaintance with the English language (and most of that spoken rather than written) makes every trip on the roads an adventure.
