It has been a very long time since I was an AF Lt. advising anyone, and it was in an entirely different part of the world with my finger on the launch buttons for three nuke-tipped Jupiter missiles.
We're half a day from the nearest Pacific beach at Manzanillo & my COPD prohibits even thinking about diving. There was a ferry, just one year, between Tampa and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. It was the one which serves summer tourists between Maine and Nova Scotia and they thought they might profit by using it in the winter months between Florida and Mexico. Unfortunately, they didn't get enough business; probably because tourists fly to Cancun via Merida and the drive from Yucatan to the rest of Mexico is long and uninteresting. Those wanting to visit colonial cities can fly from Orlando to Mexico City, Guadalajara, etc. and rent a car or use public transportation quite easily.
Nevertheless, if you drive your Smart, we'll have a spot in the garage for you. It is about a four day trip.
