Memorable Concerts

Hoping that folks will share some concert memories and updates-

The 47th annual Philadelphia Folk Festival takes place this weekend-always enjoyable, especially for those of us who grew up listening to WXPN 88.5 FM, and enjoy celtic music, etc
Philadelphia Folk Festival

My most memorable concert event was Woodstock 1994
Woodstock '94 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Massive amounts of people, tents, mud, herb, free expression, music, and free for many of us

You must be a youngster.

My best was the winter of 1967-68 during my freshman year of college.
At the merchandise mart in Dallas. Open Table seating and BYOB!

The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield and The Strawberry Alarm Clock

What a night of herb, booze and great music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Misfits in 1982. Very small venue, plus they still had Danzig! Very bad-azzz hardcore!

Pink Floyd at the Darkside Of The Moon Period.Way before they became a huge arena type act. Also Jetro Tull during the Aqualung period.I'm very heavy into blues music and Muddy Waters,Albert King,of course Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Fab T-Birds,Albert Collins,Dave Van Ronk, only to name but a few.I have been the host of a radio program called Down in The Alley for 14 years. In conjunction with my interest in blues,my girlfrind and I typically go to 6 or 7 blues festivals a year. Also we have gone for 8 consecutive years on the Blues Cruise in the winter. The Blues Cruise is the most fun I have had with my clothes on.

Genesis played the US last year.
I caught the show in Albany, NY.
I've been a fan since the late 70's, but somehow never saw them live.
This show was great . . . the old boys have still got it.

My favorite concert experience ever.

You want old? I've got you all beat - the Beatles at the Cow Palace; Jimi Hendrix at Winterland; everybody at the first Monterey Pop Festival; Bob Dylan (plugged in with what later became the Band) at Winterland (I've now seen Dylan in concert in each of the last five decades); the Grateful Dead, Janice Joplin, and just about anybody else you can think of at the Fillmore on any Friday or Saturday night from 1965 until 1969; and finally, right before I left San Francisco in 1969, the Rolling Stones at Altamont.
