The rules are: How the game is played: "You have to post a song title that has at least one similar word from the previous title posted. " <snip>
The rules do not state that a person can`t post multiple replies. It states,"You have to post a song title that has at least one similar word from the previous title posted. " ,<snip>
Perhaps it is up to what the definition of "A" is.
I have access to ALL songs to hit the Top 100 from 1954 to present (Hot 100, Country, Jukebox, Rock Tracks, Bubblers 1959-2007, and Pop ME 1890-2006). For most songs, I could reply with dozens, if not hundreds. Multiple replies are NOT in the spirit of the game and serve no point. (other than to confound the game)
I have a searchable database of close to 50K song titles. I was active in this game, before it went to hell, due to morons thinking it was groovy to post multiple responses. Was I cheating with the database? Perhaps. But, I made an effort to not repeat the same response (even separated by time - I highlighted responses I'd made in my database). And, to post multiple responses is just ... well, no other way to put it, DUMB, and AGAINST the stated rules of the game.
Well now, my response is more exciting than playing this game. It is ovious the thread starter should have been more specific with the rules. However, It Is ovious, the rules should be more precise. I must admit, I have replied multiple times, in sequence. To some, that spoils the "spirit of the game". It was not my intention to do so. If I offended anyone, please, accept my apology. Yes, the rules must be more precise. As you know, there are individuals that violate rules, deliberately, and you must know, we all make mistakes. Should a member be banned for violating the music game rules, deliberately, or by a simple mistake? How would you define a mistake made, relative to a deliberate action? I stated in a earlier reply, this game must follow rules. Who is to refine the rules, the thread starter, or us? Who or what, will be responsible for banning a violator from the music game, a vote?
Please, post some suggestions. I do not believe the music game has gone to "hell". Maybe a little off track, but I think if we work together as a team, it would be more enjoyable for all.
NCC1701,
Wow! That must be one heck of a music collection! I do not know if using a database such as yours is a violation. I don`t see how it would be. Your collection sounds very impressive!
Thank you,
Carl

I wish to repost this messsage using the quote above.
