Had my smart for a year and a half. Got nav, dvd, radar, nav operated ipod and slingbox. Now I have to figure out how to tow this. Will be here in days.
I know exactly what I'd do. If you're handy you could do the same. Torsion axles and motorcycle tire guides that can be had from Northern Tool then make up a lightweight frame. I'd build it narrow as possible without it being in danger of tipping over. Hardest part to do would be a frame...in keeping with the lightweight theme.
I remember a Honda concept car (or just a small one Honda from Japan) that had a mini-bike that fit into the back of the vehicle. I will look for it (it has been a while).
