For the newbies and oldbies - How to use the IGNORE function

GREETINGS!

This post is for the newbies AND the oldbies that don't know the forum has an IGNORE feature. I know it took me some time to find it and I have a feeling some members that are even less computer literate than me might not be able to find it so I hope this helps if there are posters on the forum that have posts you'd rather not see. It's as easy as 1-2-3!

Click the "User CP" on the left hand side below the Smartcar of America logo.

Next click "Edit Ignore List" under the "Settings and Options" listing on the left hand side of your screen.

Fill in the blank with the name of the poster you don't feel like reading about and viola, no more annoying posts.

It's spelled 'mmmeat' btw. Now all you have to do is copy and paste!

Your pal,
Meat.

The only problem with the ignore feature is it does not include all the information others Quote from person you chose to ignore.

Personally, I won't use the ignore feature. Been flamed, been in heated threads, they work out or go away. Car Forum and nothing else!!

I will not use an "ignore" feature. I won't allow some hypothetical sleazeball to insult and slander me and have no way to see what he/she wrote. In cases where people are doing things like that, it's not that I don't want to see it -- I don't want anyone else to see it.

when you ignore somebody's posts, there's still a link to "view post" every time they post something, so it's not permanently hidden.

But then what's the point? It's just adding a step if your goal is to see that the person is not slandering, insulting, etc. you.
