Off-Topic Cafe "Rules"?
"The Off-Topic Cafe forum is for discussion of everything else in the universe that fits into no other subject specifically categorized on Smart Car of America Forums. All discussions must be work safe, other thAn that, sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee!"
these are the only 'rules' i can find for this thread. no mention of "nothing political".
please tell me where i can find the 'other rules' so that i/we may all abide by them.
thank you.

Doesn't the statement
«The following topics and links are prohibited on Smart Car of America Forums: Religion, Death Penalty, and Politics»
... blanket the whole Forum, including the Off-Topic Cafe?
Please note:
1. the word "Forums" is plural, without limitation
2. this is a question.

maybe so... It depends. I personally don't think "the rules" apply to everybody equally. There is a thread on here that, well nevermind...
I love my car! I miss my car!
Oh AND I love my family! I miss my family!

and that's fine. i have no problem with that. it's just that i read under "Off Topic Cafe" what the thread was for. i have not seen the statement:
"«The following topics and links are prohibited on Smart Car of America Forums: Religion, Death Penalty, and Politics»
sorry, either i didn't see the 'fine print' OR i simply missed the 'memo'......

I'm in Mexico, where we have freedom of speech and very low stress levels. The expression, "politically correct" has no meaning, all religions are tolerated and none are respected, everyone loves music, color, fiestas, cervesas and tequila; the work day starts at ten and ends at nine with a siesta in the middle, the climate is perfect and the food is fresher and more healthy than most anywhere in the world. What more can we say about the place that 'invented' chocolate, corn, beans, vanilla, peanuts and chiles en nogada. Besides, we've had Smarts for years. So, OK, the cops are the crooks and the USA's thirst for drugs makes the border area unattractive. But, the rest, WOW! For those who are interested, Mexico has no death penalty. There now, have I covered everything?

one of the Merriam-Webster Dictionarys definition of "Politics":
5 a: the total complex of relations between people living in society
with that in mind, one could make a valid arguement that ANY discussion on ANY forum could be considered "Politics".
Forums are by nature "Political". the word Forum by definition is a place for "open discussion". if we cannot have 'open discussion' here, then this is NOT a "Forum" but a smartcarofamerica "website" in which case you CAN limit ones speech and anything else for that matter.
HOWEVER limiting ones speech is not supporting an "open discussion" and should not be allowed on any "Forum".
