Pacific NW bird watchers?

OK, this is in the off topic cafe. Maybe someone in the great Northwest can identify this bird for me and this post will then slide into obscurity. On my last visit to Crater Lake I took quite a few pictures of this bird. Not shy at all, typical National Park critter well trained to seek handouts. But, I haven't got a clue. Can anyone identify this bird?

Wow, Dave - that was quick. All I know is it doesn't look at all like the monstrous creature that left a big gooey present on zippy yesterday.
