I've appreciated it when given a heads up by other members about certain TV events. I just noticed this on the program schedule for PBS tonight.
10:30 Eastern, 9:30 Central
------------- Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon - Pulse WFSU - 11 - Sun, 9/20, 9:30 PM 1 hr 30 min Music-themed, Concert, Music, Performance, Rock 'n' Roll In a concert laden with visual effects, the progressive rockers of the band Pink Floyd step onto a London stage in 1994 to perform the entirety of their 1973 album "The Dark Side of the Moon," including hits such as "Money" and "Speak to Me."

Unfortunately, this is part of a fund raising effort, so expect lengthy interruptions. The actual program is probably 60 minutes with 30 minutes of pledge request. (I'll capture it, edit it, and burn it for viewing).

Reason: Correcting EDT given. Oops
I would love to let them know what programs I watch and appreciate by pledging during those shows, But the shows I want to support are not on during pledge week, only shows that have nothing to do with regular programing.

Very good point, I agree completely! And, I don't know if ANY amount of public support could allow for discontinuation of corporate support ... but that would be a worthy goal. Regardless of claims to the contrary, the corporate support has to influence programming.
If you want to see this without commercial interruption, I highly recommend you beg, borrow, or steal (or even buy) a copy of the "Pulse" DVD set. It's well worth it for the entire Earl's Court concert, but the DSotM segment is *excellent*.
...And the "behind the scenes" bonus crew video is priceless.

20 minutes into the show, I am now certain I HAVE seen this concert on DVD before. Not my DVD, a friend's, and I was a bit distracted. I may have to buy it for myself. Especially with the technical glitches I'm seeing (on my local PBS station, at least).
It's interesting watching this, and other classic rockers perform. I am aquainted with a number of twentysomethings who are fans of Pink Floyd and other classic groups. That would be like me being a fan of Guy Lombardo, or Bing Crosby, when I was twentysomething. But then, my parents didn't grow up with rock and theirs did. Aww, Rock is just a fad.
