Have to admitt,we know nothing. But our son is our tec. and we have been on Linex for several years.Except at tax time,then he has to make the windows work. Hey we ordered our Smart,on this machine,no windows.

I've tried various versions but never tried that one yet, seeing the cob webs have finally cleared and not much time invested in that version I'll give Mepis a go.

Most things are pre-configured, like network adapters and Samba...

I've tried many different distros over the years, but I keep coming back to SimplyMepis...now called simply "Mepis".

I bought a eee pc from Asus a month before I brought home my smart car. The 2-pound wonder computer (now being sold at Target) runs on Linux and weighs 2 pounds. Unfortunately, you just cannot add any software without programming. I use it on trips to connect to my office computer, check e-mail, and the news. It's great at the airport and attracts as much attention as my smart car!
