TG Tradition:
Family comes to Gramama (Irene)& Opa's (Rolly) house,
3 children (two daughters, 8 months and 7 months pregnant) and their spouses, and 6 grandkids.
Gramama makes turkey (Opa carves), stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, White wine and/or beer.(No alcohol for pregnant daughters)
daughter one brings brown-sugar-turnips casserole,
daughter two brings home-made Pumpkin pie, wiped cream, and
daughter-in-law brings creamed carrots.
The house explodes into a cacophony of laughter, yelling & conversations, a few tears ... no one loses an eye. Everyone is full to the brim.
At about 8 p.m. Gramama and Opa are empty-nesters again.

OMG - that is just about what we get next month. Only we drag it out for a week and my sis hosts. I drive 440 miles w/ my youngest son (in the smart). My oldest and his GF fly out at the last minute. Mom (Grandma) flies in VERY early and stays VERY late. heh heh. Sis's son lives in town, so drops in from time to time for the week's celebration. Plus B-I-L's kin, in and out all week. We all play lots of card games, board games, video games and puzzles. The 3rd generation does food on the day after - that means Turkey eggs Benedict, Turkey soup and Turkey sandwiches. Then we nap... ...a lot.... ..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

69 Baricuda,Off subject,but random

Just wondered if the Passion ,had a real clutch,is there enough torque to lift the front end up? Sure feels different than our 68 ,VW with auto stick shift, but it is shorter, and a better engine.
Probably a safety concern there some place.

AH yes, football ... Some of us "Canuks" are addicted to the NFL and fantasy drafts. We have Canadian football (3 downs, 12 men per side, 25 yard deep endzone, 110 yard field, single point for missed field goals, no fair catch, 20 sec. time clock, slightly larger pig-skin, and other different rules - Four more season games till playoffs.
Then there is Hockey, the NHL season is 5 games into an 80 game season. I live in Edmonton and we have the Edmonton Oilers. They have won 5 Stanley Cups.
And of course most of us follow the baseball playoffs and World Series (Yankee fan since I was a Kid)

p.s. Curling starts in the New year ...
