My first home computer...........Atari 800 with a double 5.25 floppy drive. All the other high class kids parents bought them Atari 400s. Still don't understand how I got to 1-up them as normally I was the kid with corduroys while the other kids got regular jeans. Everyone always heard me coming.........zip..zip...zip...zip. Man I hated those pants. That was just the beginning.....for the most part I was far from deprived....same goes for my kid. Ahhhh, the circle of life. Not ready to be a grandparent....

Arrggghhh. I hate it when they screw up shows and don't research. On SyFy's Sanctuary a qoute..."3 years ago the Air Force dropped a Daisy Cutter on an Argentine village and vaporized 15,000 people.". If they would of done their research they would know that the "Daisy Cutter" isn't for destruction despite it being a big bomb. Those 15,000 people had to have been nuts to butts crammed in there to be "vaporized". The bomb was used for psyops. Speaking of psyops....anyone see "Men who stare at goats" yet?

NCC - that old TI calculator is actually $$$ now.

"My" first computer was about the size of a refrigerator and lived in the college lab.

Ahhh, I didn't ruin anything for you. I didn't tell you WHO died along with those 15,000.

I take it you didn't watch SGU. Well let me tell you all about it......

I chose to watch SyFy and Tivo Monk and White Collar.

I paused SGU to post one of my watches for sale on a watch forum and then resumed it 15 minutes later. I'm behind the times as far as Sanctuary and well what you know I just paused it now to respond to you.

I bought a Panasonic VHS deck today. Unfortunately, it is in a combo unit with a DVD recorder. I was really only interested in the VHS deck, but good ones are impossible to find in new condition, and it's the best I could find. On the plus side, it has a digital tuner and may be able to replace the 'box' from the cable company which I've been using for several years. And, it has HDMI output, so I can finally get some decent pictures on my HDTV. I know, I did that backwards, but my 15 year old Hitachi CRT TV died a few months ago. I still can't watch my camcorder videos at their best though, since I don't yet have a Blu-Ray burner. I guess that'll happen one of these days.

Shortly after I get all my video up to 1080p, it will be superseded.

Random ramblings.
