I think it is the fact I don't slow down around corners might be one thing or maybe the screaming at inattentive drivers doing everything else other than paying attention to what is around them may be another. Seems there is two catagories: the group who refuses to get in the car with me and the group who normally does it says, "Woohoo, this is gonna be FUN!".
FWIW, I refuse to weave in and out of traffic and will not tailgate. If there is a straightaway with no cars around I do what I feel appropriate.

People criticize me because I drive economically fast (accelerate slow, don't brake very much) (within the speed limit) and I don't brake when I turn corners (like into businesses or neighborhoods), I just coast...I brake before the turn...
That is, unless I'm playing "touring car driver"...
And I love straights with no cars in sight...I hit 110mph in Little Kia last Friday...
And if that straight is empty again someday (it's rarely empty)...I'ma shoot for the top end of 137mph...

I hear it too...

Little Kia hugs the ground...although I have to admit, I have taken out just 1 cone...
P.S. To quench my need for speed, I'm going to BlackHawk RaceTrack in South Beloit (IL) on track days to post some nice lap times and race my buddy (he drives a 1991 Mazda 626).
