"Wifi on that disabled ship in the Bermuda Triangle" .... huh?
The internet wasn't the first means of mass communications. Anyway, it certainly is useful. But, to say the internet drives the development of PCs is a bit (I think) bass ackwards.
Since you seem to be one of the people I was referring to, I see no point in arguing my main point. Until the early to mid 90s, it was primarily universities and government agencies which used the rudimentary technology. And yet, amazingly, millions of PCs were sold. What the heck did all those people do with their PCs without being online. How droll, LOL

Hmmm...What would I do without the net?
Microsoft Train Simulator 2009
Microsoft Flight Simulator X
Microsoft Ship Simulator 2008
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC)
Nevermind, I'd be occupied.

Yes I do. (about the loss)
It's a great loss for a great car, they engineered it well...
For some reason I could not retain the information I learned about Bugatti other than the Veyron itself...
Time to study my cars more!
Neon...can't wait for the smart 451 mod for GTA: SA...
