My first 'computer' was a Texas Instruments calculator. That's almost like being older than dirt.
Mine too, actually. A TI-58C Programmable, with print cradle. OMG.
LED display. Non-volatile memory. Programmable! DATAMATH
I had a lot of fun with that thing. (Wait, who has FUN with a calculator??)

Reason: Pictures!
You know that Panama City isn't really IN Florida, right? You're really in Alabama, but they wanted a 'buffer' on the Gulf in case a hurricane came, so the let Florida claim it. "REAL" Florida is everything SOUTH of the panhandle.......
Yepper! Twenty odd years ago there was some discussion about Northwest Florida seceding from the state. In an alternate universe, The USA has 52 states ... including Puerto Rico and Northwest Florida.

MY first computer was a Sinclair (NOT Timex/Sinclair, that was later!) XZ80 ! It came as a "kit" (the only way it came then) and had a WHOPPING 1k of memory!! It had a membrane keypad and each key had about 5 functions!

OMG is RIGHT! You must be some 'super geek' or 'Geek God'. To actually remember the MODEL NUMBER? Oh, wait......you probably still have it in a shoe box in the attic, right?

At the time, it was STATE OF THE ART
I'm .....how did it operate since electricity hadn't been invented when YOU were young?
A bit of a surprise last night, someone I've known for several years, but I'm not close to, expressed interest in the Smart Car. She sat down next to the right person... We talked about my Smart Car Test Drive video I made and the Safety aspects of the Smart Car... and she wanted me to email her the information. Here's the email I sent to her:

Hi Hope,
It was fun speaking with you at the producer's get together last light. Here's the information on the Smart Car Safety including links. I do NOT work for Smart Car nor do I even own a Smart Car. (Right now money is very tight, but when that changes, I'm going to buy one.)
Most people assume that a Small Car = Death Trap and in the past where all the small cars were build with minimal protection, that would be true. However, the Smart Car is built around a solid roll cage that has been tested both in the lab and on the streets and proven to stand up to accidents. Additional features, like side air bags, collapsible steering wheel, ABS, and ESP all add to the safety aspect of the car.
Here's the data from FARS (Government data on highway deaths) where I calculated the average number of cars for one highway death per year. The a look at the existing data shows the Smart Car comes out ahead in safety. My Anaylsis Of Smart Car Protection

It should be interesting to see if she gets one or not....
