Ummmm....not me...cough cough.

Told my boss not to come looking for me..I won't be there....said the same to everyone that works for me (but didn't tell them I was going to see Star Trek as I value their non-geek opinion of me - said the wife has a doctor's appt). Boss is jealous as I mentioned his boss might do a surprise visit to check on him.
You mean their isn't a midnight showing you could go to?

Actually, there really is a doctor appointment so it isn't lying much. Oddly enough right after I did the post earlier my phone started ringing off the hook and the kids that work for me were having a fit asking what to do and if I could cancel my appointment because it may be busy tomorrow. No can do . They'll figure it out, that's what they get paid the big bucks for.

I won't be missing the afternoon showing. ... ...hopefully.

I've seen all the Trek shows and movies, and I'm a big fan of Wrath of Khan and First Contact; I didn't think any new Star Trek movies could top those two. But I can unequivocally say that the new movie is hands down the BEST Trek movie of the bunch. Why? This new movie is young and fresh and has a level of energy that none of the prior movies can match, and it's casting is superb. This is the Red Bull boost that the franchise needed. I can't wait to see its sequels.

J.J. Abrams has done Trek fans a great service. The only thing that can top this now is if the movie comes out in IMAX.

Just got back from seeing it. Agreed with Smart Enuf - THE ALL TIME BEST EVER Trek movie of them ALL! As I said earlier, the wife and I have been seeing them together in the movies since 5 (TOS) and we both had seen others in theaters before we were ever married. Both of us agree this is a 100% must see if you are into Star Trek at all.

A day skipped well worth it...and I did text my boss 30 minutes before the movie started saying I was waiting for it to begin. He of course replied saying they needed me back at work. My reply? "OK, I'll be there but I'm going to test my transporter and beam myself there. If I don't show then that means I dematerialized enroute and I'm dead."

About the only thing that made it bad was the guy with bulbous head that came in 3/4 of the way through the movie and sat down DIRECTLY in front of me at the highest most straight backed position he could sit. Even after I played my "Swine Flu" acting on him he wouldn't budge. (coughing with mouth uncovered so he could feel a nice breeze on his bulbous head while complaining of an achy body and being tired.)

I just got back from doing a double. I went to Star Trek and it was good and I was overall satisfied with their take on things. I went to X-men origins: Wolverine also and it was cecent too. I guess both movies I went to today were prequels.

I-Max tody. Played hooky with a full theatre. 1 person at the Box office and 1 Person at the consecion stand. Loooonnnngggg Lines.

Great Movie. I had stoped watching the star trek Movies after the first Next Gen and only about 1/2 the origanals were good. (even Numbers)

But this one breathed new life into the franchise.
