Sunday Morning Drives

Do you see yourself taking a Sunday Morning Drive, out in the middle of no where, back country roads, just for fun?

I have been involved with many online forums, clubs, etc and we I find myself putting together drives, drivers training, and weekend trips here in Texas.

Do you see yourself getting involved with these types of events with like minded SMART drivers?

Steve

Steve,

Certainly possible, although with the smart it may be more in city/town tours than out in the country. I think as people begin to get their cars there will be a lot of interests in meetings of various kinds. There has already been some discussion of annual cruise-ins but nothing firm yet.

I do it now in a Scion car club.

I most definitely see myself taking leisurely treks on long, winding, mountain roads...

It would be a fun day, but you would first have to find enough of them close together and that sounds like it would have to wait until late 08 at the earliest.

I did many group drives with the S2000 club and see no reason not to do the same on twisty roads with the smart.
I think smart owners will tend to be more interested in social gatherings in the park and peoples homes.
I'm sure there will be big events, regional and even national for the smart fan.

There is NO doubt in my Britain-derived mind that there is plenty of space in a smart's trunk (boot!) for a wicker picnic hamper, a good cabernet, and your tartan spread. A Melton Mowbray pork pie? Cetainly some Grey Poupon too.

Maybe at some nice location at the end of a low-intensity "gimmick" rally.

Just threw that in for understandable shock value! Actually, the condiment-of-choice for a cold pork pie is a little Coleman's English mustard.
