Works for me. I would prefer we spend our energy dollars with Americans instead of sending them overseas to people who want to kill us. Maybe I'm just a little sensitive since my son is currently cruising around the Persian Gulf between the wack jobs in Iraq and their even crazier counterparts in Iran. If we didn't have to have our military protecting our supply of foreign oil, he would most likely be somewhere much safer.

Dragging this somewhat on-topic, a good part of the reason I bought my smart was so that I could cut down on the number of gallons of gasoline I use.

Well, if we take all the natural gas away and use it for fuel, how the hell am I supposed to cook my hot dogs? I'm pretty sure my gas range will not run on wind.

I like the picture in the video of the traffic jam; it's a Green River right off the 91 freeway out here in California. Not sure how they got the cars to stop in both directions at once, though; traffic through that little funnel either goes west in the morning (no traffic east) or east in the evening (no traffic west).

I did notice that he wants to set up windmills right through the swath of land where the HUGE oil field we just "found" (we already "found" it decades ago) is. Maybe we can use wind to pump the oil.

I'm less enthusiastic about CNG powered cars than I am about hydrogen powered cars; at least the byproducts from hydrogen are only water and heat.

And hydrogen cars have more horsepower. Me likey horsepower.

Your pal,
Meat.

Are you trying real hard or were you just born dense? Who said anything about product liability lawsuits? You brought up the issue of subsidies, and I was responding to that. Sheesh, try to stay on point.

Read the text at the website PickensPlan. Here's part of the blurb on natural gas:

Quote:
Domestic

Natural gas is our country's second largest energy resource and a vital component of our energy supply. 98% of the natural gas used in the United States is from North America. But 70% of our oil is purchased from foreign nations.

Natural gas is one of the cleanest, safest and most useful forms of energy — residentially, commercially and industrially. The natural gas industry has existed in the United States for over 100 years and continues to grow.

Domestic natural gas reserves are twice that of petroleum. And new discoveries of natural gas and ongoing development of renewable biogas are continually adding to existing reserves.

While it is a cheap, effective and versatile fuel, less than 1% of natural gas is currently used for transportation.
It's not either/or; instead of using just 1% natural gas for transportation, move toward roughly 23%. With NG reserves twice as large as our petroleum reserves, I think the backyard grill is safe from extinction.

Well, they do make harnesses for ... or is it a trapeze? I forget but I'm pretty sure one of them comes with a ball gag.

Wait ... what were we talking about again?

Some people are dense enough to like it when billionaires such as T Boone Pickens pick their pocket for subsidies for "clean energy"!

Reminds me of the $9 billion/yr Carter spent on oil from coal (the Federal Fuels Corporation) and of the $1.35 billion year Clinton spent on electric cars (the Partnership for New Generation Vehicles).

Sorry, I just saw the "Don't Feed the Trolls" sign. Didn't see you under that bridge. My bad.
