I have a friend who is Vegan and cooks things to bring in to work all of the time. I have to say (and this is coming from a meat & potatoes raised midwest boy), everything I have had has been delicious.

She's starting an online vegan bakery - I am trying to find the URL right now but can't.

Only so many ways to cook a leaf

Don't think I could go strict Vegan, Love dairy way to much.

Hmm, maybe cheese curds for breakfast

Just asking...

I quit dairy completely at the first of June as I had a cough/congestion thingie that wouldn't go away. Now I'm slowly starting to re-introduce some dairy products (like fat-free tapioca pudding and tillamook sharp cheddar). I never could stand soy type milk substitutes - rather do without.
I guess you could say 'health reasons'....just want to lose weight and cut back on my cholesterol. Weight is 'high' but my cholesterol is 'ok'....just think it could be better.

As for the dairy, lately I think I've become lactose intolerant....bummer too, as I love dairy...whether it be cheese, milk or whatever. I've drank a glass of milk (1% of late) with my dinner since I was a kid, so it's really going to be hard to give THAT up. The soy milk (Silk) is a bit different and I can see why you can't stand it. I could only stomach it if it's REALLY COLD, but still seem too thick compared to what I'm used to.

Time will tell how it all pans out. I've got 'veggie burgers' for lunch today, on a whole wheat tortilla with 'processed' sliced cheese. I wonder how THAT will turn out......

The wife and I are converting. We've already converted from eggs to EggBeaters. Pretty decent. Bought some Silk soy milk and I can deal with that. Next we are weening ourselves off meat until all the meat is gone in the fridge. We've already been checking out some of the alternative 'meat' products....burgers, sausage links and Italian sausage. NOT BAD! We love salads so that's no problem.

The problem I see is CHEESE.....we love CHEESE! What do you guys do for cheese? We need some suggestions, please.
Panda, NO meat,or dairy product at all if you Vegan. Bears eat grass clippings. Bears also love BBQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how can you call it SOY MILK if soy as far as I know dont have nipples? ITS SOY JUICE!

And so our friend will turn into a little hairless Panda... hay chihuagua! might be a suitable name.... Lets help BP find a well fitting, vegan, soy suckling name.. its the least WE can do for him....
