I Went for an airplane ride with my kids, years ago. It was out at the old Orange Co. airport (Cal).
The ride was in a 1936 Cabin Waco Biplane. We flew out over the harbor and I remember it was all leather and chrome inside, and loud like like an old airplane should be.
They had a museum on that field that was owned by Frank Tallman and Paul Mantz, old move pilots. (read "Hollywood Pilots" a great book about the early days of movies and flying.)
Later years Mantz was killed flying that kludged up C-119 while making the movie "Flight Of The Phoenix". Frank Tallman hit a mountain in 1978.
