Could be wrong, but I think Lotus was handed the package and they had to try and make it behave like a car. Could have something to do with the price ending up at $100K.

Nothing wrong with the concept IMHO, it's the execution that's at issue here. Somebody (smart?) will eventually produce an electric vehicle with decent performance at an affordable price, but it doesn't appear that will be Tesla.

The car is a modified Elese done in house. Porsche is an other company that provides engineering services to the industry. Detroit is a good place to get a cheap house at the moment.
Joe six pack killed the electric, they cost more than we wanted to pay and did not go far enough...

Or maybe, you know, Joe Sixpack had to fund his 401(k), pay college loans, funds his kid's college funds... Not everyone can afford the luxury of buying a $100,000 car in order to earn "greenie" stripes.

If you go back to the start of motoring electrics had the majority... way before "green" was a good thing.
