I think the white 453 should be some cool concept smart (like the crossblade?) and the forfour changed to a 450. That way, the banner has every generation of smart and one extremely rare unicorn.

Although there is is 451 in the background, the proposed banner (IMO) is too heavily weighted on the 453. For at least a few years to come the 451 population will continue to exceed the 453.

I agree that the forfour isn't available in the US so it shouldn't be on the banner.

451 and 453 should be equally represented with perhaps a small 450 in the background. I have seen a few 450s in my area, there is one currently for sale a few miles from my house.

It would be nice to keep a convertible represented of either the 451 or 453.

New Banner Feedback thread - Let us know what you think!

A banner is a promotional tool. The 453 should have most of the emphasis, because it is the current generation and more relevant to the majority of our future members. Those of us who have already landed here don't sit around gawking at the banner anyway. And when we got our 451s starting in 2008, the last thing on most of our minds was a 450, so we can be pretty sure that 453 shoppers won't have much interest in the 451 either. Let the banner show what's going on at smart today, and not confuse (or alienate) prospective smart buyers with old models.

I think as the 451 continues to drop in price new users with recently purchased 451 models will visit the site. I plan to keep my 451 for the next ten years and I'm not going anywhere.

The site says smartcarofamerica, not just smart453club. The site should still represent all USA versions of the smart and the banner should reflect that.

But for some time to come, most members will have and be most interested in the 451. So it should have at least equal prominence with the 453.

According to the SCoA graphic at the top of the page, we are "America's Largest Smart Car Community." Let's continue to be inclusive and recognize previous generations of the smart.

I will chime in. I think the banner should represent all. Feature the 453, also show the 451 & 450 in a less prominent position or size. There have been three generations and should be all represented! I so love the way the new banner 'POPS'!

Everyone wants to be inclusive, to some degree. The question is where to draw the line. Some want all three generations in a banner. Some want two. Some want every unique model that smart has ever made. Somebody is sure to want every color combination ever produced. Then comes the question of how prominent to make each generation shown. In the end, I feel badly for the graphic design team who would like to make everyone happy.

The Forfour needs to go (unless a miracle occurs in the form of M-B changing their mind) since it was never sold in America (and that includes Canada). Replace that with any 451 or 450 that you have a graphic for.
