Fine Ill do it again, I just hate having 3 conversations at the same time about the same thing that has no resolution.
I ran out of gas for the first time in my life. In my smart! But I learned that the digital countdown of the last gallon is incredibly accurate.
Somehow I didn’t notice the gauge until it was reading 0.1 gallons. I immediately headed for the nearest station. The reading went to 0.0 gallons. The car sputtered to a stop about a hundred yards later.
It took 8.7 gallons to fill the tank.

i fill up when convenience and my mood strikes - but i tend not to play games and see how low i can make the gauge go before i fill up. i've filled up many times when the gauge is reading between 1/4 and 1/2 tank. and i don't feel ashamed or a lesser person because of it.
the competitiveness in seeing who can get the gauge the lowest before fill up is somewhat disconcerting.

Anyway though, this is an OLD thread so it's not like a new person is asking the question. Just a thread from last year that's been revived...
I got mine down to 0.7 once. I can't remember how much it took to fill, but I do remember that it went slightly over the 8.7 mark when I added the numbers together.
I did it on purpose one time. All you have to do to prime it is hold down the gas peddle while you are turning the key to start it. It takes a couple of attempts, but will start.
On the other hand, if my 08 Ram Cummins runs out, I call roadside, too complicated for me..
