12v aux power adaptor port problem

I keep popping the 15A fuse for the 12v power port (fuse 21 I think). I only use the 12 power port for charging my cell phone on occasion. The problem shows up when I bump the cell phones power adaptor the wrong way or plug it in the wrong way. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm due for my 10K check in a couple of weeks so I can have the dealer look at it, but, if it's something really simple that I'm missing, I'd like to fix it this weekend.

I searched all over the forum and couldn't find anything helpful. Maybe I just missed it. Any ideas or comments? Thanks.

Yup, but not on the smart. Same deal happened. The problem was not the (Outback) socket, but the cellphone plug. It was lightly built, and pushing it aside or twisting it in the socket caused an internal short in the plug. Pffft!

There was a similar problem with Honda CRV's, particularly with Verizon phone chargers. The problem was with the outlet itself, which the dealership replaced (under warranty) for anyone who had a problem.
