My Passion Coupe is white/silver with red interior (pods and fog lamps). I did get to take the owner's manual home with me and did a cover to cover read today. Below, I have listed some interesting finds in it that will probably be of interest to those still waiting. But first of all I must say that I was totally impressed with the look of the car. However, that red interior is more ORANGE than RED. It does not bother me though as I wanted a bright (not boring) interior colour. Just a heads-up to anyone considering the so-called red interior.

Owner's Manual Stuff (keep in mind I am brand new to the smart fortwo)

* Because the ESP operates automatically, the ignition switch must be in position 0 (turned off) when the car is being towed with the front axel raised. (pg. 75)
* However... smart recommends that the car be transported with all wheels off the ground using a flatbed (pg 278)
* Electronic Immobilizer - activate by removing the key and de-activate by turning the ignition switch to position 1. (pg. 77)
* Key Fob - press the open button once to unlock the driver's door and fuel filler flap (I did not know it had a locking flap) Press the open button twice to open everything. (pg. 83)
* When folded down, the lower tailgate can hold loads up to a maximum of 220 lbs / 100 kg. (pg 87)
* The PARK position; "P" on shifter, is not intended to serve as a brake when the car is parked. (pg 129)
* In case of a minor transmission malfunction, it may be possible to "teach-in" the transmission - instructions on page 134.
* A flashing "R" in the dash display indicates that the gear selector lever is in position "R" but the reverse gear is not engaged. Stop the car to let the reverse gear engage. (pg 137)
* The air conditioning will suspend at an outside temp of 3 deg. C. or 38 deg. F. (pg 151)
* Only use premium unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 91. (pg 170)
* If regular unleaded gas is used because premium is not avialable, do not exceed engine speed of 3000 rpm (pg 306)
* Wheel nuts torque: 81 lb-ft or 110 Nm. (pg 207)
* Replace the key fob battery every 2 years at the latest. Otherwise there is a danger of leakage. (pg 253)
* After using the tire sealant to fix a flat, drive off immediately for about 10 min or 3 km. to distribute the sealant evenly inside the tire, then re-check the tire pressure. (pg 269)
* The fuse box is located on the driver's side below the dashboard (pg 283)
* Maximum engine speed: 6400 rpm (pg 297)
* Cargo compartment (trunk) load max.: 110 lbs or 50 kg. (pg 301)
* Engine oil with filter: 3.3 L or 3.5 U.S. qt. (pg 304)

Enjoy!
Tom

Very good info! Does it give measurements of the panels? I'm looking to paint them. Thanks, Regina
