I took it in and was told they think the siren is the culprit. I am not sure but the siren worked
really well - too well in fact!
I am not totally clear on what they are referring to but - since there are so many electronic parts, I suspect there is a bad card/interface or connection. I am not fully convinced this is it though. I did not get the impression there was alot of time spent on the car - but I could be wrong. So I am giving the dealership the benefit of the doubt. They are a large Mercedes dealership here and live on their reputation.
The justification given was they have seen this symptom on the MBs so ... it stands to reason this may be it here. I will find out how long the "siren" replacement will take. I'm expecting several weeks (2-3).
In the meantime, I will read the other thread. An "upside down sensor" sounds to be an incorrectly wired sensor. Possible ...
