I filled up yesterday, 312.2 miles, the first time I broke the 300 mile mark. It took 7.8 gal to fill up. I fill on slow and stop when it clicks off. My trip had just started flashing the 1.0 gallon instead of miles. I have just over 2000 miles on my 2009 passion coupe. I just drive, sometimes manual, sometimes in auto. I have a scangauge on order, and expect that to help increase my mileage, (it did in my truck).
SWEET wildman
I can't wait to get some miles piled on and get those 40+ MPG's
If the tank holds 8.7 gallons and if the car went 505 miles that would be an average of 58 mpg which seems incredible to me. Can a typical production engine have that much variation in mpg's? My average is around 37 mpg.

We've only had our SC for two weeks but I'm surprised that our mpg is lower than anticipated. Nearly all of our driving is in the city (surface streets) but last night we filled up with 5.5 gal. and we'd driven 143 miles; not very impressive. Is it the way we are driving or does it take some break-in time to get better gas mileage? We did fill with premium gas, by the way.

26 MPG is normal in your case: mileage is not great for the first few hundred miles, and you're driving city. Short trips are worst since the engine hasn't the time to reach its optimum state.
Look forward to steady improvement as you add miles in both, longer trips and total odometer.
My Wife has always got better milage than I do. She used to drive in manual mode and was not consistant about the gas she would get. Sometimes w/ ethanol and sometime without.
She has since found a convienient gas station without ethanol and has switched to auto mode. We are also at about 7k miles. She has just seen a 5mpg boost on the last several fill ups with these consistant changes.
Sorry I'd like to believe the numbers but from the description I'd say that is is not possible. 400+ miles to a tank... yes I have done that but nothing near to 500... If it is possible I would like to know how without having a tailwind in a hurricane to do it.
