I think if there had been other people with AC faults, they would have already posted a problem, have a play with the search engine for the forum.

I haven't try the air yet we are still using the heater. 2000 miles and no problems mid 40's when I drive, high 40's low 50's when my wife drives.

Air Con Leaks.

Our Canadian cousins have had a lot of problems with air-cons due to seal leaks and cracks in the lines.

Although this has occurred mostly on the 450 CDI Cars, it applies to our 451s as well. The problem is in the long line runs on our rear engine cars and the use of R-134.

I expect we will see more failures as warm weather comes. Have hope though, as there is a fix.

Although it most likely doesn’t apply, there is a list of reason the AC will be temporarily suspended on page 151 of the Operator’s Manual.

These are:

Low engine speed
When driving off
Water temp above 239 degrees F
Outside air temp below 38 degrees F

Although it has not been hot enough around here to try it out, it almost sounds like there is no AC when your not moving.

That will get ugly in places like Tucson and Las Vegas this summer!

I just picked up my smart yesterday (1189), today it was 68 degrees but the sun was baking me through the glass roof. I turned on the A/C and it was a joke. Had it set to 60 on full fan, I was sweating so I turned it off and opened the window to cool off. If the A/C this bad or do I have a problem?
