I have a actron code scanner and when I plug it in it does not link up to the OBDII system. actron 9145 I have used it many times on other cars....any suggestions???

Precisely the trouble I had this AM with a check engine light on my Smart. I kept getting a Link Error display. Drove it to dealership for a P0410 code fault fix. PITA.

Did a quick Google search; found a post that referenced the CAN version of OBD II, which I believe is what's on the 08 smart. Is this code reader compatible with the CAN version of OBD II?
