Maybe there was just enough dust to cause an issue? I wouldn't think it would be that sensitive, but you never know. Oh well, hopefully it continues to work.

I have noticed that the first 1/2 hour that I drive the car in the morning the lights are on, but after a while they just shut off on their own. After that they work fine, coming on under overpasses and in dark parking garages and going off upon exiting them.

If I shut off the car the cycle begins anew.

We have two smarts and only one shows this behavior.

if you look at the puck from the outside, you can see the little eye that is the light sensor.

It happened again today, along with my "check engine" light coming on. Turned out the "check engine" light was the P0410 Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction code, and now both parts are on order. I still love my smart though. LOL
