Beep beep beep (interior alarm)

So this has happened two times to me so far, its kind of odd. I turn the engine off take the key out and open door, or this last time it happened before I even opened the door; But the car just started randomly beeping at me, as if I had the door open and was trying to drive off. To fix it I put the key back in, turn it to 2 and then back and out.

Anyone else experience this? Or know what it may be?

It happened to me a couple of times when I first brought it home. No idea what caused it. It hasn't done it for awhile. Maybe the computer was talking in it's sleep.

I had the alarm go off while having the gas tank filled. Everyone was looking around (and so was I) to figure out where the sound was coming from. I think the smartie was telling the gas attendant that the tank was full seeing that he was attending someone else. Funny thing, this was my second fill up and it didn't happen the first time.

Please watch how you handle the key. The three beeps happen when you press the lock button, in or out of the car. I've had the car beeping at me when I attempt to get the key out of my pocket. Buttons are sensitive. Doesn't take much to trigger them.

please define "beep". for me, "beep" means the horn. i've had this happen a few times with the door ajar/lights-on type chime. is that what you are talking about?

This has happened to me twice! It's a soft continuous beep, beep, beep, like the seatbelt warning or lights on warning. It is not the beep, beep, beep of pressing the lock button on the key and it is not the factory installed alarm.

I have also had the alarm go off twice; once when I test drove and one other time. It is very loud and not at all like the 'key left in' beep that the original poster described.

I have the factory alarm as well, but I've also noticed that if I leave the key in the ignition that it will chime once when I open the door. I suppose it is to remind you that the key is still in the ignition. Is that correct?
