My smart got brake dust really bad at first, but now a year later it is hardly noticable. Maybe they are bedded in now and are not as abrasive. Or maybe I don't stop as much as I used to. Either way it has become a non-issue for me.

Could it be "Smart Parts And Accessoires"? That's sort of French, BTW...

Has anyone considered ceramic pads? I have been told they are quieter. smoother and don't generate dust.

I put EBC green's on my little car. Still generates a lot of dust. Wheels black at the end of the week. Not sticky like the OEM. Stops better. They don't sing on the highway. Honda uses ceramic pads. Had new ones put on our Fit. Very little dust.

Check out this thread: Front Brake Pads - Which ones? Lots of discussion about available pads there.

We have disc italia ceramic pads on the front.

Been on for about 3000 miles; almost no dust, very little noise and good braking. Very satisfied.

That is true ...... BUT ...... they will wear the rotor faster

It's just a matter of what you want to replace first
