brake lamp

my left lamp went off and notice that in the reverse light opticts the red area had no use and no ilumination, after cheking the manual I saw that there is no lamp for the red area of the reverse lite, but when I took a part the lamp holder there is a midle socket for a lamp but no lamp
Is any use for this empty soket? is for another model?
So if the red parking lite goes out is no ilumination at all in the side that the lamp fail and no warning like in the Merceds display.

Most likely European model. I've had my tail lights out several times but never really looked close.

Might be a common-part, W450 lamp holder which had three smaller lamps.

If the part number on the holder begins with "A450...," that is the case.

It sounds like you're describing the rear fog lamp.
