Mine stays locked. Mfg. date 2/08.

Could it have something to do with whether or not the factory alarm is installed?

Mine relocks the hatch. 7/2008 build with 2.0 upgrade, no factory alarm system (unfortunately).

Well, mine does have the factory alarm and stays locked. So, that's not it.

Cool, cheers, it looks like it might be just a UK issue as only UK 451 smarts have deadlocking and double pull handles. Looks to be a software problem.

OK, I think I've figured this one out: 2009 Passion with factory installed alarm system, fob unlock rear with alarm armed, hatch locks when closed. Fob unlock with alarm off, hatch remains unlocked, relocks when entire system is rearmed by locking with fob.
