car goes off

Does anyone have an idea why my smart goes off when I use the FOB for my parking garage? it has happen twice now and I am afraid I got a lemon. My car has 700 miles in it and it is a passion cabrio. Any ideas?

Also, I had posted a question about the price for the smart 10 sound system. Any one has an idea of how much would cost to sell one?

THANKS!

You don't have a lemon if the alarm isn't working properly - you may need to visit your dealer for free warranty work.

Selling a radio 10 system? I'd expect $50 for the radio if you're lucky; many people pass them along to those without radios (or upgrading from radio 9s) for the cost of shipping. Pay it forward kind of thing. There are a bunch of folks that want tweeters so you might get more than the $20 I was asking when I (thought I) had them available. The subwoofer was reasonably easy to move at $70-$80 but that was a year or so ago.

If it's your alarm that's "going off" this thread may give you some guidance:

Not to sound too obvious, but the Maytag repairman can tell you how many times the washer was unplugged. Is it only in your parking garage, or does it happen elsewhere? The Maytag, check the obvious question is, could you be pressing the panic button instead of the lock button. Did that once or twice myself.

I have been thinking about the OP's post.

Quote:

I am interpreting this differently than the rest of you. I read this as the car turns off when he uses a garage door remote.

After reading this thread http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/for...es-part-26878/ I'm wondering if the garage door remote radio Signal is interfering with the cars Immobilizer, thus turning the car off.

Thats my take on it. If the "FOB" for the garage is attached to the Key ring it may be causing interference.

The Simple thing to try would be to put the Garage FOB as far away from the Key FOB as possible.

Of course we won't know until the OP decides to return and clarify the situation.
