Are you talking about the floor mat install? Mine had plastic fasteners which just penetrated the car's carpet.

I didn't use the plastic fasteners. Instead I put some velcro at the top of the footrest area and back edge of the carpet. It's worked well so far.

I did not use the plastic fasteners,
I did not use some velcro at the top,
I did not use some velcro at the back,
I do not like green eggs and ham,
And the carpet mats work just fine without any of that stuff, no problem, no shifting.

The floor mats may work out OK, but my warranty replacement carpet still has a 2" curl in it. The rubber mats do not hold it down either. It's a real PITA since the passengers feet always get caught on the curl when entering the car.

I purchased the rubber mats and whoa, yeah, the plastic screws actually poke into the carpet. But you don't make a whole all the way through the car. The most surprising thing about the smart to me is that every accessory seems to require new holes in the car! On other cars I've had there are already hooks or pegs for mats, cargo covers, etc., so no new holes are needed. But in the end, it's just a psychological thing to get over. No problems with doing it, and you would really have to look to find the holes when you remove the mat.
