Okay...add me to the list as well. My engine malfunction light came on while driving to work this morning. I checked the gas cap and it's fine. Funny thing...when I called my dealer (in San Jose), he didn't sound surprised. He assured me that it's safe to drive home since my appointment is for tomorrow morning. Lets hope he's right. I'll report back on their findings.

You can now add me to the list. I was on my way home from visiting my daughter in the hospital today and noticed that the engine malfunction light was on. I've got around 750 +/- miles on the car ** I picked it up on April 19. I called 1-800-smartusa and the guy told me to check the oil, so hubby and I checked the oil and it seemed okay. Of course, it was about 8 p.m., so the dealership (smart Bloomfield) was closed. I left a message, but will call them in the a.m. Hopefully I can drive it over there and not have to have it towed. There goes part of a day of work! If there are no loaners, I'll have to have hubby follow me and take me to work and then back to pick up the car when it's fixed. I'll post once I know what the problem is.

I drove it to smart Bloomfield this morning. Mark took a look at it right away. There was a valve that had to be replaced and it only took about a half hour or so. I think it was the same error message everyone has been getting ** PO410, I believe.

Funny thing ** I was going to stop for gas on my way there, as I was pretty low. I pulled into the BP at Long Lake and Telegraph and Melanie returned my call right then. I turned the car off while I was talking to her, decided to wait to get gas since I was only 2 miles from the dealership. When I turned it back on and pulled out of the gas station, the light was off. Isn't that the way it always happens?

I got gas on my way to work when I left smart Bloomfield, and I got 43.2 mpg on this tank! Woo hoo! I was so excited. Took a picture of my odometer with 303.2 miles on this tank and it took 7.018 gallons. I still had about a gallon left.

I have 330 miles on my convertible, and the check engine light came on during stop and go rush hour driving. The car stumbled for a few seconds, then ran fine. I took it to the dealer, and they checked it out, reset the computer, and said there was nothing wrong with the car. I hope they're right...

Just quick followup on my check engine light problem.

When arrived at my local dealer, they were a little busy completing work from the previous day. So, they were nice enough to provide me with a red Cabrio loaner so I didn't have to wait around. This was a very nice gesture. Man..I was I had bought a Cabrio instead of a Passion. Anyway....

After 2.5 hours, my car was ready to be picked up. They determined that it was the same "P0410" problem people have been encountering and fixed it without any question. I've been driving it for 3 days now and the light hasn't come back on.

FYI..for those that are curious. My car had ~1,600 miles on it when I encountered the problem.

I`m in also. My check engine light came on tonight as I was driving from some friends house. It can`t be the gas cap since I haven`t put gas in it since last week, so I bet it`s the same as everyone elses. I have about 430 mi on it and it drives as well as it has since I got it. Looks like a trip to the dealers for me.

Just joined the club at 150 miles! I'm taking my car in circa 3pm tomorrow to Smart of San Francisco. I doubt its the gas cap because I've never opened it before!

I hope its fast, and if not I really hope they give loaners there!!! I'll even take my '02 Golf TDI that I traded in.

My car would not start yesterday after work,it was the 3 bar problem. Dealer is going to check my check engine light P0451 that comes on every time I fill up with gas.
