"Clicking" noise

I get a noise ("click") in the rear after the car warms up. It is not the purge valve.

When I come to a stop and then press slightly on the accelerator to move I get the "click". Then going over an expansion joint in the road (with my foot off the accelerator) I hear the click.

The dealer inspected the car and heard the noise but could not find the cause. He said it is not the axle, transmission or clutch. He said if I bring the car in and leave it with him several days he will find the cause. He said he put another car on the lift and heard the same noise.

Has anyone had this noise and what caused the noise?

If it is a very consistent and rhythmic clicking, you are hearing your fuel injectors, and that's nothing to worry about.

Is your car still new or relatively new? I had a couple rat-a-tat-tats two summers ago, but most went away quickly (the new parts seating themselves).

Check around the torsion bar too. Maybe a foreign object got lodged on it, and clicks up (or back down) when the suspension flexes.
