Comfort Package Usage?

Hello all,

I wanted to get an idea of the pros and cons of leaving the AUTO-LIGHTS and AUTO-WIPERS in the "AUTO" mode???

I am using a poll to see how many of you use it either way and perhaps why? or have you had any issues?

Thanks for the feed back!!!
Brad

The warning about NOT leaving the auto-wipers on during a run through a car-wash tunnel, about the (recent) battery drainage, about the extra cost of the "auto" option made me decide against it in the first place: too easy to forget about it once used to its convenience may lead to costly damage(s).
So, I did not opt for the option to start with. Less things to worry about. I switch the lights/wipers on when needed, and am happy with this easy and traditional solution.

Let me start with the only reason I bought the comfort package was to get the leather seats to make my better half happy. The lights are no problem the only time you ever have to think about them are on a very bright rainy day. we get those here in the eastern temperate rain forest... most of the time no fuss no bother nice gimmick. The wipers get shut off to prevent dry wipes on a dirty screen. Once you get to know the stalk it is easy enough to use. I really like how the rain sensor adjusts the wiper speed to the amount of rain. Still use the stalk to manually input at times like the last look before pulling out may get an extra wipe. most of the time it just gets turned on an off each rainy day. Thought both a wast of time at point of order and am now very happy with them.

Auto lights on all the time. Why not?

I turn the wipers off from auto mode when not needed. I don't want them to operate un less I say so.

Comfort package

I decided not to get the comfort package because I wanted something other than a grey/charcoal interior. I've been staying away from leather seats for my last few vehicles due to the maintenance issues on leather-especially light colors-tans, parchments, cream etc. which I generally have favored.
I did get the seat heaters-they are very effective and do a good job of loosening up my lower back in the morning. It's an age thing...

COMFORT PACKAGE - worth every penny!

Auto wipers are off - as windshield is treated with Rain-Ex and seldom need the wipers.

Auto lights w/delay are on - it's just one less thing to do when we launch the smart at night.

Heated leather seats are the bomb and although power steering is not necessary smart does seem to handle better at speed.

The only time my lights aren't in AUTO is when I'm using them as DRLs. Rains all the time (nearly) where I am so having the wipers in AUTO is a real benefit. At times, I will manually operate the wipers as they seem to get a little to active for the light mist

I've had my car now since April, and I leave the auto stuff on all the time. The only issue I've had is occasionally the lights will go on when I don't think it's necessary. - sheureka
