Might want to check Lowes in the "fastner" section. They have a section for automotive fastners and I think they have copper washers. Seems like I bought some for my VW Beetle years ago. That was when copper was alot lower in price.

They seem worth about 21 cents to me let me know when you find them for less than a buck for a six pack
Yea...that's about what they are worth....but two washers should take me through 50,000 miles then I'll worry about it again!

Any auto parts store has a selection behind the counter - you just have to make sure you don't have a dufus counterperson who doesn't know they are there. You may need to bring your own ruler, calipers or replacement washer to check their selection.

Bought the Mobil 1 and oil filter at Wal Mart - $27 total. Went to one of the local CarX places and walked through the change with one of the guys there - $10.

For better or worse, the Fram TG6607 Tough Guard. xcrew229x and I are the guinea pigs for that filter I guess - in spite of lots of advice not to use Fram filters.

From the oil change thread:

I really don't believe the thickness of the washer is all that important. Just not too thin and not too thick.
