Crash Damage Parts Availability....

I have the chance to buy a salvage title Passion Coupe (to add to my other Passion Coupe) that will need some structural parts..mainly the radiator support behind the hood, and a couple of other odds and ends. I was curious if anyone on this site has had luck getting parts and if so where and how long did it take to get them.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

John

I hit a deer with one of my passions less than a day after I got it. No body damage, but it did mess up the driver's side headlight and broke the headlight mounting point on the radiator support. I epoxied the plastic headlight mount back to the radiator support and ordered a new headlight from smart center Round Rock. They had it in stock and I received it a couple days later. Of course, structural parts like the radiator support may be harder to come by than just a headlight. Paul at Round Rock is a good guy to work with and may be able to give you some idea of parts availability.

Hi John,

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for it if you don't mind sharing that info?

I paid $2700 for the car with 970 miles on it. I bought my passion about three months ago and my friend liked it so much he bought one as well...unfortuntely he was in an accident 3 weeks later...(chain reaction with front and rear damage) so I have bought it with a salvage title...it did very well in the accident as the only real structural damage is the composite radiator support and the rear unibody will need a little work below the tailgate..the engine/transaxle assembly and all suspension components were untouched. Of course the front and rear panels took a beating as well.....

I am a new owner and new to the site, thanks for the quick feedback...John

John,

I was asking because I am looking for an engine transaxle assy to work on some projects I have.

Did you deal with the owner (your friend) directly or is there a local company that deals with reselling cars salvaged by Insurance Co.?

Thanks.

Your best bet will be to send a PM to Keshyathree she works at smartville....
I guess she can help you out with all the parts you may need

I just bought a passion coupe with red panels. We originally wanted a yellow one but the dealer messed up and we got a red one. We bought the yellow panels (which have been discontiuned) and are int he process of chagning them out. The car is one day old. A few bugs one the panels but we are cleaning them to like new.
